SSAB is revolutionizing steel production with two unique steels that essentially result in zero fossil carbon dioxide emissions. This paves the way for a greener future.
After 3 years of collaboration, SSAB Europe EMEA has extended its agreement with Järnmalmer, which includes a complete solution for all waste products generated at the facility in Arendal, Göteborg. Its Steel Service Center is the largest in Sweden with an annual production of around 300,000 tons. Over the course of a year, there will be a significant amount of scrap that needs to be handled where daily emptying and a very high level of service is required. Jan Bjäreborg, who is responsible for the environment and sustainability at SSAB Europe EMEA, comments on the collaboration with Järnmalmer as follows:
“Through a close dialogue with sales manager Stefan Roos at Järnmalmer, we have changed our focus to a business which focuses on the environment and sustainability for the recycling of waste products. Today, it is not only steel that is recycled, but also plastic and cardboard, which is an important part from a sustainability perspective. For SSAB, it is primarily about the simplicity of a complex business where help is immediately available, regardless of whether it concerns sorting waste products or guidance about a certain type of waste.”
