Rebecka Bergström has taken up the position as Account Manager at Järnmalmer. She will work actively to identify and develop new business opportunities and strengthen the inflow of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap into the organization focusing on small and mid-sized companies.
Welcome to Järnmalmer Rebecka. How does it feel?
Thanks! It feels exciting. All the new colleagues I have met so far have been very welcoming.
What are your short- and long-term goals with your work at Järnmalmer?
In the short-term, it’s about getting an insight into how the business works and familiarizing myself with everything that goes into working at Järnmalmer. In the longer term, my goal is to create good customer relations with both existing and new customers and to develop our product towards the local market.
What is your background?
I have worked in service and sales my entire professional life. I started as a salesperson in retail. After three years of studying Estate Agency and Finance at Högskolan Väst in Trollhättan, I received my registration as an Estate Agent in 2016.
How would you describe yourself as a person?
I am optimistic and see every day as a new opportunity. I’ve often been told that I’m stubborn and I never argue against that. I am solution-oriented and thanks to my problem-solving skills I can work well under pressure, which I see as an advantage in my new role.
What makes you happy at work?
Enjoyable coffee breaks in the common room. All joking aside, there is some truth in that. Being able to laugh together and seeing colleagues succeed and feeling proud of their achievements makes me happy.
Recycling and reutilizing is an industry of the future. What do you think about environmental issues? And what eco-initiatives do you take at home?
It’s an important question, perhaps the most important question right now but also in the future. No one can do everything. But everyone can do something. At home, we are careful about sorting at source, shopping organically and taking care of the food we buy.
What is a good business deal for you?
When all parties feel satisfied, and you want to do business together again. The finishing touch is also if you feel that you have learned something along the way.
What are your hobbies?
Since I became a mother in autumn 2021, my everyday life has changed. My biggest priority is my son who likes to hang out in playgrounds, jump in puddles and play football. Spending time with family and friends is something I appreciate a lot. Traveling and seeing new places is among the best things I know and something I try to do as often as I have the chance. I love sports, although as a spectator, but in the summer, I like to play golf when the chance arises.
What are you most looking forward to in your new job as Account Manager at Järnmalmer?
New challenges and learning new things that will make me grow, both professionally and on a personal level. I look forward to building long-term relationships and being part of successful collaborations. I am full of anticipation and very excited about what 2024 will offer.
