Christoffer Wikström has taken up the position of business developer at Järnmalmer. Christoffer, who was previously a respected project manager in the demolition industry, will work actively to identify and develop new business opportunities and strengthen the inflow of iron and scrap metal into the organization.
Welcome to Järnmalmer. How does it feel?
Thank you.
It feels really good. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time.
What are your aims?
In the short-term, it’s about finding my way in the organization and getting to know everything about working at Järnmalmer. In the longer term, my aim is to create good customer relationships and develop our product for the local market and trading.
What drives you as a person?
I’m a competitive person. I set goals in everything I do. They inspire me. I like to set more challenging goals than are sometimes reasonable, to get a few extra per cent from my performance.
What is a good business deal for you?
When both parties feel like winners and the relationship has been strengthened by the deal.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Father, loyal, driven
Recycling is one of the future’s industries. How do you see environmental issues yourself? What environmental initiatives do you have at home?
This is a major issue that needs to be given higher priority. Everyone must be involved and contribute what they can. Something we pay attention to is recycling, car sharing and buying local products as much as possible.
You have small children and like to work a lot. How does this work in your day-to-day life?
I try to plan everything well. When I come home from work, I try to be 100% there for my family. I start thinking about work again after the children have fallen asleep. I am an evening person so working a little after watching a film with my partner also works well.
Who is your biggest fictional hero?
Bamse the Bear, every time. A soft, good guy who wants to be everyone’s friend.
What does morality mean to you?
Morality for me is the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. To be honest with yourself and others.
What are you really good at besides your job?
I wouldn’t say that I’m really good at anything besides my job. I know a little about a lot. I like to fix things around the house. My strength is that I always finish what I start
We’ve also heard that you’re a fan of paddle tennis. What should people focus on if they want to beat you?
I’m okay at paddle, no more. They should look to smash the ball hard so it goes out of the court because I run after every other ball!
What is your extravagance in life?
I appreciate a nice bottle of Burgundy every now and then. I also have periods when I might treat myself to more clothes and shoes than I need.
If there was a film about Christoffer, who would play you?
Brad Pitt (read with total hubris)
Looking back on life, what words of wisdom would you give your children?
Priority number one is the family. Give everything to everything you take on: you can only do your best. If that is not enough, you have at least tried.
